Roger Federer of Switzerland plays a backhand shot at Wimbledon.1 THE WIMBLEDON Championships, the oldest in the world of tennis, begin this month. Taking place every year from late June to early July in London, the tournament is one of four played for the “Grand Slam”.
2 The Grand Slam tournaments are the world’s most important professional tennis games. The other three tournaments of the Grand Slam are the Australian Open (January), the French Open (late May to early June) and the US Open (late August to early September).
